I worked with Jean at St Helens College, Newton Campus for many years.

Jean was a good boss and was very thoughtful and kind to us, bringing in the beautiful cakes and quiches she loved to bake.

Jean served our College students and staff through times of great change and she was committed to giving everyone a fair and equal chance.

She even gave me a huge carpet which covered the whole of my living and dining rooms and I was very grateful.

I am very sorry I will not be able to attend her funeral and pay my respects but I hope this note will serve as a tribute to her work.

My sincere condolences to Jim and Jean's family.

Rest in peace, Jean.
